Crude Oil and Gold Give Us Entries on Volatility

In tonight’s video, we discuss the trades that set up in the Crude Oil futures market, as a result of the increasing build-up in stockpiles. We also had a setup in Gold Futures.

For both trades, we started by first using the Aggressive Volatility Box according to our trade plan rules. The Gold futures gave us an entry, and fell deep into our Volatility Box clouds. We were spared by 1 tick on that trade, staying alive, and giving us a small gain into the end of the day.

With the Crude Oil market, our first entry was very quickly stopped out. We had hope for ~30 or so minutes, when it looked like Crude was forming a cup-like bottom, and preparing itself for a jolt higher. Instead, it had its chair pulled from underneath it, and ended stopping us out.

That was then our sign to switch on over to the Conservative Volatility Box, which gave us our second, and better, entry to go long the Crude Oil futures market.

Using our Futures Volatility Box, we had a total of 3 trades that set up today, for a net P/L of $50.

Earnings Corner

For upcoming earnings, we discuss plays in AKAM, T, MA, and COP tonight. We use the Smarter Earnings tool to take you through the patterns that stand out, and conditions we’re looking, to trigger us into a trade.
